Overview:  Catalyst has multiple openings in support of fast-paced, high-priority, Marine Corps programs. Among those positions, we are looking for a qualified Technical Writer with proven portfolio of experience.  This position requires a person who is driven to excel in a dynamic project-oriented environment collaborating with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals. This Technical Writer will have a decisive influence on project success by creating easy-to-understand user content and product documentation to increase product clarity, performance, and usability. A strong writing and communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with other teams are a must.

Job Tasks:
· Develop a concise, accurate narrative summary that coherently describes a meeting, new idea, problem or solution; Organize information in a coherent format using the most effective combination of narrative, charts, figures and tables· Write technical materials, such as manuals, appendices, or operating instructions. May assist in layout work
· Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers, clients or teammates
· Analyze current content and make improvements as necessary
· Maintain records and files of work and revisions
· Anticipate project requirements by observing, receiving and obtaining information from relevant sources; Take actions to ensure needs are met for success
· Interface with clients and team members to understand project requirements
· Support team activities during planning, milestone preparation, proposals and other surges

Technical Tasks:
· Create strong content that fulfills company standards and project goals by organizing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
· Utilize a variety of media forms including photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material
· Interview team personnel and research other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods
· Formulate concepts and plans into professional documents with narrative, clear visual graphics, PowerPoint slides, and compliant formatting for presentations
· Identify mission goals on projects, and review practices to ensure appropriate goals are prioritized and met
· Review, understand, and implement organizational policies and guidelines on projects and proposals
· Facilitate meetings among stakeholders to achieve meeting objectives
· Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
· Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.

Work Activities:
· Communicate with supervisors and teammates
· Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time
· Regularly assist other team members and perform other work as assigned

Tools and Technology:
· Microsoft Office Suite software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Adobe Systems; Acrobat; Photoshop
· SharePoint
· Web-based collaboration tools including Skype, GoToMeeting, and equivalents

Skills:
· Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar; Ability to communicate in oral/written form effectively
· Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
· Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
· Ability to read, synthesize, and apply a high volume of information in a short period of time
· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; Ability to listen thoroughly
· Ability to use logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
· Ability to manage multiple, concurrent assignments and manage work/track deadlines
· Ability to learn from constructive criticism in a quality focused environment
· Ability to work successfully both independently and collaboratively
· Professional manner and strong work ethic

Preferred Experience and Other Qualifications:
·  Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance required
· Ability and willingness to surge in support of team and program needs
· Consulting skills or experience preferred
· DAWIA training preferred
